FINAL EVENT

acquario3The CAPSELLA final event  will be jointly organised with the Osservatorio Italiano di Agroecologia on May the 8th 2018 in Milan (Italy) at the Acquario Civico. The meeting provides a chance to discover how you can become a change-maker and turn these calls for strengthening agro-biodiversity into a reality. The CAPSELLA event will help participants understand the problem which the planet – and policy-makers – face and how users have been coming together to respond to the challenge, bottom-up.

The event will allow attendees to see first-hand how open data and mobile technologies enable the public to monitor their local food, field or seed systems and contribute to the policy cycle. From this perspective, it is of interest to the whole agrobiodiversity and agroecology Knowledge Community. From a Digital Single Market perspective, it also offers the chance to talk directly with innovators who have tried to exploit open data to develop new products and services, understand the obstacles they faced, and share in lessons they have drawn from this experience. This is important since much hope is pinned on the open data policy and the exploitation of sharing open data to support innovation, growth and prosperity in Europe.

It will be a great opportunity for all in the agro-biodiversity sector to get involved and start using CAPSELLA as an open innovation tool and source of future – sustainable – growth of their business and their communities. From seed to fork, and idea to market, CAPSELLA is the future of sustaining the planet, so it can better sustain us. This is why it is also essential to raise awareness among citizens about the need to strengthen agro-bio-diversity to achieve these results.

The event will include parallel Working Groups to exchange experiences and knowledge. This participatory and open innovation approach is an essential characteristic of CAPSELLA and gives a voice to those networks such as farmers that are new in the Digital Market.

The event agenda will be available in the upcoming weeks.
